Spring is here, and with it comes an exciting season of events, planning, and community connection at UniHill. Thank you, as always, for the time, energy, and care you continue to invest in our school. Our community thrives because of you.
As we look ahead to next year and the busy months to come, we want to share a few important updates.
Upcoming Events
Talent Show – April 17th | 4:00–7:00 PM
Lights, Music, UniHill! 🌟🎶The UniHill Talent Show is almost here! Join us for an evening of creativity, courage, and fun as our students take the stage.
A huge thank you to Dana Romanoff for leading this beloved event. We’re looking for parent helpers to support behind the scenes — set-up, transitions, and general event magic. Please reach out to the PTA if you’d like to volunteer, and keep an eye on HelpAtSchool for upcoming sign-ups.
Volunteer Appreciation April 23rd
Teacher Appreciation Week – May 4th–8th
Fun Run – May 8th
Auction Fundraiser & Fiesta – May 21st (starts immediately after school bell)
Staffing Updates
We are pleased to share updates regarding classroom support:
• 3rd Grade: Two new paraprofessionals have joined, providing para support in each 3rd grade classroom for approximately 80% of the academic day. Ms. Brooke Baker has joined the 3rd grade team as a classroom teacher for the rest of the school year.
• Kindergarten: One additional paraprofessional has been added. With schedule revisions, all three kindergarten classrooms now have para support for approximately 80% of the day.
Enrollment & Recruiting
Current enrollment is around 370 and we are projected to be down in next year's numbers (approximately 20 less in KG and 30 less school wide). Continued enrollment is essential to maintaining strong programming and classroom support at UniHill.
If you know families who may be interested in joining our community, please encourage them to connect with the front office to arrange a private tour. We will also be sharing announcements about upcoming recruitment events.
There is no enrollment cut-off, and families may apply at any time.
Volunteers Needed
We are always grateful for community support:
• Rainbow Press (3rd–5th) - volunteer link
• Garden to Table Chaperones - volunteer link
• 5th Grade Continuation – May 19th | 3:00–5:00 PM
4th grade parents we need you! This is an opportunity to see how it's done and help give the current 5th grade a fun sendoff
WhatsApp Community Guidelines
To help maintain a positive and respectful communication space, we will be reposting both a short-form and long-form version of the WhatsApp guidelines.
Key guidelines:
• Share messages relevant to grade or school information
• Communicate respectfully
• Do not mention student names or specific student situations
• Address conflicts privately
PTA Board members may moderate channels, communicate directly regarding concerns, and help direct families to appropriate resources. The PTA Board does not judge or resolve conflicts between students.
For school-related concerns, please contact:
Principal Marina Orozco-Ngu – marina.orozco-ngu@bvsd.org

Our goal is to maintain a respectful, informative, and supportive community space for all families.
Thank you for your continued support, involvement, and care for the UniHill community.
